#87 The French band Trust in European tour 2008 Live interview in Marseille with Norbert Krief aka Nono the guitarist !!
Norbert Krief aka Nono, guitarist and founding member of the French band TRUST in 77, accepted to give me an interview when they played in Marseille on October 10th during their European tour 2008.
Trust in Marseille : Nono (guitar), Bernie (vocals), Farid (drums) and a wonderful lightshow but pretty hard to take good pics in three songs !
Nono was enough kind to answered to my questions in English for being understable by my listeners and all their fans around the world even if it was not easy for us both to really express ourselves in a foreign language. I hope you will appreciate the performance !! We spoke about their new album “13 à table”, the critique about our society and politics’ drifts or failures in their lyrics (even if Bernie is the master, he was not free for the interview), the evolution of their music (Nono writes the melodies),
Nono, Bernie, Deck (DJ), Vivi (guitar) and Iso (bass) in action !
…their world reputation in the hard rock scene (cf. the American band Anthrax covering “Antisocial” in English), even if they just considered themselves as a rock band, their friendship with the Australian bands Rose Tattoo and AC/DC and I illustrate the interview with some excerpts of their new album as well as some good old songs which crossed and touched all the generations during 30 years.

Salut Annie excellent report et surtout j’ étais ravi de te rencontrer à Marseille ,le public était également au rendez vous et content de voir Trust chez eux …je garde un excellent souvenirs de ce petit sejour dans le bas de la France … maintenant je vais m’effacer doucement de cette belle aventure et la continuer seul dans mon petit coins perdu en Meuse.
c’est vrai que je suis un big fan … et je le serai toujours ,c’est tatoué dans ma chair et dans mon esprit

Bravo Nono, il est temps de dire clairement que LES DIEUX N’EXISTENT PAS, sauf dans l’esprit des faibles et de ceux qui manient les armes. Peu importe que ta musique soit du rock ou du hard rock, pourvu qu’elle soit anti-sociale!

BTW : For info, this podcast was downloaded in 5 days prioritary by four countries like always : France, USA, China and Australia; usually (and since december 2007; the years before the US listeners were the first ones) at the end of the month the stats give : China, USA, France and Australia in front of 115 different countries around the world. Thanks to the French people who did the effort to speak in English, specially to Nono !!

TRUST = ROCK ‘N’ ROLL ANARCHISTS?!?
Well … that might a bit EXTREME … BUT there’s no doubt that Bernie’s lyrics ring more applicable to today’s times then maybe when they were originally unleashed upon the HR/HM world.
It was GREAT to get some insight from NoNo in English … twenty years+ of translations where never as clear as your interview Annie, Merci’ …
And the band?! Always finding their way … (again) welcome back!
