Being a French guy living in New York…all I can say is that this is a pretty small world.

I’m one of the very very few to own a Buckweeds T-Shirt, eventhough I never saw them live.

The first time I ever sang on stage -back in 2002 and for 250 people, it was a Buckweeds song..”I Don’t Care Anymore”….and I had Marky Ramone behind me on drums.

It was after the break-up of the Buckweeds, when former Buckweeds singer Nick Cooper started “Marky Ramone and the Speedkings”.
After singing that song I got to join them in the van on tour.

Annie, don’t mention the club Poste a Galene on your show….when I was personally invited by the Lords Of The New Church on their tour…and on the guestlist thanks to Mr Dave Tregunna….the #@@@ of that club threw me out from it during soundcheck for no other reason that I was sitting there and invited by the band.
Actually Brian James had very nicely offered me a guiness, and while Brian was away the guy of the club made me pay for it and threw me out.
I had to stand in front of the club, and couldn’t take any pictures during soundcheck like I hoped.

And if Manny reads this, I never met him but talked to him by email once…about Belgian old school Punk band Revenge88.

Oh and Adam, I know Adam of course…Heyyyy Adam!!!!
(everybody buy the Black Halos album OK?! Its GREAT!!!)

    Small world, I’m telling you!

    Best to all,
    Thomas

Hello Annie and all the Meltingpod listeners,

I really enjoyed your interview with Manny. I learnt alot about his musicial life and the journey he has been on. I liked the story about the girl that looked like Joey Ramone and singing it to her years later in the club with Marky on drums. That was very funny.
I will have to track down The Ones music and listen to it.
Hmmm The beaver song, maybe it could be added to a Movie soundtrack.
American Pie 3 maybe a good vehicle, good royalties that is for sure.

  3. Manny Says:

Shane ! You have an eye for business !

  4. Manny Says:

Hi Thomas, we indeed emailed a few times. It’s indeed a small world. And what makes it even funnier is that “I don’t care anymore” is a song that i wrote…

  5. Shane Says:

Maybe you could rename the song for the American market
    “Apple pie” lol

Who said the Poste à Galène was not the best place in Marseille Annie???
